About Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun

Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, is a Federal Government institution established to train middle-level manpower for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

All admissions are processed in line with the guidelines of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

PTI Post UTME Eligibility 2026/2027

Candidates are eligible to apply for PTI Post UTME if they meet the conditions below:

(i) First Choice Candidates

  • Candidates who chose Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun as their first choice institution and

  • Scored 130 and above in UTME.

(ii) Change of Institution Candidates

  • Candidates who did not choose PTI as their first choice but

  • Scored 130 and above in UTME and

  • Are willing to change their first choice institution to PTI before the screening date.

(iii) O’Level Requirement

All candidates must possess:

  • Five (5) relevant O’Level credit passes

  • Which must include:

    • English Language

    • Mathematics

  • Mineral and Petroleum Resources Engineering Technology

  • Petroleum Marketing and Business Studies
