To be eligible for admission into Computer Science at EKSU through UTME, you must choose the following subjects when registering for JAMB:
✔ Use of English (compulsory)
✔ Mathematics
✔ Physics
✔ Any one (1) of the following preferred subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Agricultural Science
- Economics

O’Level (SSCE/WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) Requirements
You must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, obtained in not more than two sittings, including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry (recommended)
- One other Science or related subject (e.g., Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Computer Studies/ICT)
These are the standard O’Level requirements for Computer Science admission at EKSU.

Direct Entry Requirements
If you’re applying through Direct Entry (i.e., entering at 200 level), you typically need one of the following:
✔ Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Mathematics and Physics, or
✔ NCE with credit passes in Mathematics and a relevant Science subject, or
✔ ND/HND with at least Upper Credit in Computer Science or related programmes (e.g., Statistics, Electronics/Electrical Engineering), provided you have five (5) O’Level credits including Mathematics.
Summary: Minimum Entry Requirements for Computer Science (EKSU)
| Requirement Type | Subjects Needed |
|---|---|
| UTME Subjects | English, Mathematics, Physics, plus one of Biology/Chemistry/Agric Science/Economics/Geography |
| O’Level (Five Credits) | English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other Science or relevant subject |
| Direct Entry | Two A-Level passes including Maths & Physics or ND/HND Upper Credit + O’Levels |
Tips for Aspiring Computer Science Students
📌 Make sure your O’Level subjects match the course requirements — particularly Mathematics and Physics, which are mandatory.
📌 Choose the right UTME subjects — picking Economics or Geography as the fourth subject is acceptable, but candidates with Biology or Chemistry may find it easier to meet broader science requirements.
📌 Prepare for Post-UTME/Screening — meeting the subject combination doesn’t guarantee admission; you must also perform well in EKSU’s screening exercise.
