Federal University, Lafia (FULAFIA) resumption date for the continuation of academic activities following the Federal Government’s resumption directive.
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has signalled that it is prepared to restart academic activity on its campuses. This was stated in a circular published by the institution’s Management on Monday, September 26, 2026.
The circular stated that the institution’s readiness to start academic activities was a result of a mandate issued by the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission (NUC), instructing vice-chancellors to reopen institutions and allow students to begin classes.
The directive was signed on behalf of the commission’s Executive Secretary by Sam Onazi, the NUC’s Director of Finance and Accounts.
The letter directed vice-chancellors, pro-chancellors, and chairmen of federal university governing councils to “Ensure that ASUU members resume/resume lectures as soon as possible; and that the daily activities and routines of the various university campuses are restored.”
Thus, in accordance with the directive, the Management of the Federal University of Lafia issued an action plan to mobilize financial and material resources, carry out sanitation and fumigation within the campuses, repair damaged facilities, and hold Senate and Congregation meetings to prepare the campuses for the eventual resumption of students on October 10, 2026.
