Lagos State Government (LASG) Postpones Y2026 BECE Resit to October 6
The Lagos State Government (LASG) has rescheduled the Year 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) resit for Thursday, October 6, 2026, at all designated examination centres across the state.
According to a statement signed by Mr Adebayo Orunsolu, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, the postponement was necessary to accommodate schools that had yet to register their candidates for the Resit Examination.
As a result, he urged concerned Principals to take note of the new date and ensure that all affected candidates are properly informed, emphasising that the Board does not wish to deny anyone the opportunity to take the examination.
While regretting any inconvenience caused by the postponement, Orunsolu requested the cooperation and understanding of all stakeholders in order for the exercise to be fruitful.
Prior to the postponement, the BECE Resit was scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 2026.
