Joint Action Committee, JAC Suspends Warning Strike

Following the declaration of a twelve-day warning strike by the Joint Action Committee (JAC), which was slated from 19th to 30th July 2026, the JAC, at its emergency meeting held on 30th July 2026 at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, resolved to suspend the strike and inform the general public.

Reason for Suspension

The suspension comes after the JAC observed signs of commitment from the Bauchi State Government to address the critical issues that led to the strike.

Conditions for Suspension

The suspension is subject to the following conditions:

1. Salary Issues: No JAC member’s salary problem should be left unattended, as assured by the State Government.

2. Promotion Implementation: Promotions should be implemented concurrently with the yearly increment. Split implementation is unacceptable.

3. Retirement Age: All matters regarding the 65 years retirement age must be fully resolved.

4. Outstanding Issues: Issues such as consequential adjustments, the proposed Contributory Pension Scheme, and the Contributory Health Scheme should be addressed.
